The device I'm using is nearly identical to the Hisense; So much so, that I was able to follow the guide and could get ALARM to boot properly on my device (though installing a DE and rebooting would cause it to kernel panic). I attempted to follow the same procedure, but the output throws a large number of errors and their stacktraces before finally initializing the WLAN driver, and then it simply hangs there, not entering the login shell. As this is before I gain access to the shell, I can't figure out what caused it, and have no idea if there are any logs available after it threw the errors. The closest I have is a video of it throwing those errors.
The last time I attempted this guide and succeeded was November, so it's a recently implemented change. Any advice would help be greatly appreciated. I just want to run a true Linux environment with GPU acceleration.
