CuBox ARMv7 Arch Linux on Wondermedia wm8850 netbook

Postby wkt » Sun Sep 08, 2013 12:07 pm

I downloaded the CuBox ARMv7 Arch Linux and prepared a SD card
for my wm8850 netbook as usual.

I have a crosscompiled kernel at my disposal which does not
have access to the internal LAN WiFi and Sound chip.

But I normally ( e.g. under Xubuntu ) use successfully LAN WiFi
and Sound USB adapters.

I booted the system and get console messages with many OK.

The screen is cleared and the login prompt appears.

BUT THEN ( with USB LAN adapter ) :
after some time I get the following messages and the boot stops thereafter

Timed out waiting for device sys-subsystem-net-devices-eth0.device
OK Reached target Multi-User system
OK Reached target Graphical Interface

Under Xubuntu the ifconfig command shows eth0 correctly if USB LAN adapter is plugged in.

What may be the reason for this and is there a solution ?
Perhaps take another ARMv7 system ?
