How to set framebuffer memory size?

Postby raumzeit » Thu May 08, 2014 10:23 am

Hi all,

I just upgraded my Wandboard quad with latest vivante gpu drivers and 3.10.17 kernel. Using the framebuffer driver for the GPU, X11 and xfce4 seems to be working fine. However, when I install the x11 driver, and adopt my xorg.conf to use it, I get an error message like this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'fb memory is not big enough to hold shadow buffer!')

Here is my complete Xorg.log

I tried setting fbmem to 48M or even higher in /boot/uEnv.txt
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1920x1080M@60,if=RGB24,bpp=16 fbmem=48M
optargs=consoleblank=0 vt.global_cursor_default=0
')

but still, X11 tells me that only 8MB fb memeory are used.
Can anyone tell me how to force a larger fbmem?
