Still having trouble I see.

Maybe you are applying the patch to an already modified tree. When patch fails it generally leaves the target files partly modified. This triggers the error you saw.

I tried PMing the compiled kernel package, but including files fails. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I started a fresh tree, i.e. deleted the existing directory and copied the git tree from scratch. Will let you know how it goes.

I think it worked:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')==> Tidying install...
-> Purging unwanted files...
-> Removing libtool files...
-> Removing static library files...
-> Compressing man and info pages...
==> Creating package "linux-wandboard-headers"...
-> Generating .PKGINFO file...
-> Generating .MTREE file...
-> Compressing package...
==> Leaving fakeroot environment.
==> Finished making: linux-wandboard 3.10.17-5 (Sun Aug 31 13:51:41 MDT 2014)

Installed and booted but wandboard wifi is not up. I don't have a display or serial cable so no idea whats happened. Will need to reflash card and try again maybe.

Congrats on your first kernel build.

You don't have wired ethernet either?

I have wired ethernet, but will need to plug in the wandboard to another router I have. Will let you know in a bit if it works.

Ah, both interfaces (USB and sdio wifi) were up for a bit and then suddenly:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=1496 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

wlan1 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=30 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:on

')

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '

I have a raspberry-pi setup as a wifi-extender. Both interfaces of the wandboard (SDIO and USB) are configured to connect to the same raspberry pi. I've noticed that when both are active, and I do some simple network based operation (like pacman -Syu) the network dies, or the ssh is very very slow. Anyway, got the pi back up and will check the wandboard again for any other problems.

Also, if you like I can upload this kernel package somewhere.

Do you perhaps have more than one interface configured on the same subnet?
