HDMI initialisation on Hummingboard i2eX

I have a 5" touchscreen from Adafruit https://www.adafruit.com/products/2260 and I'm having an issue with it. During boot, the Uboot stuff shows up, and then the screen goes blank, followed by vertical black lines. You can see an image here: https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=95024

If I unplug and replug the HDMI cable, the screen works properly.
