Cubox-i4pro "no screens found"

Postby CPUnltd » Fri May 23, 2014 4:23 am

I am running into a serious brick wall here. I have followed the official tutorial on how to get A.L.ARM installed on my cubox, but I can't seem to get video working. I have installed the dove and fb drivers for video, xorg and all the server packages for xorg, xinit, 2 display managers and 4 desktops... still no gui. Please help! all the xorg logs tell me is "no screens found" and I'm not getting any more detail than that at the moment. What other logs can I check to get more information to work with?
If "custom" was mass produced, it would just be a "product line..."

Well, you don't have dove.
If you don't want xbmc ever, install this (from clean install)
pacman -S lxde xf86-video-fbdev xorg-xinit
If you want xbmc install it at the same time as above, not separately, and look at this post
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7259&p=39883&hilit=bashrc#p39883
Run with xinit /usr/bin/lxsession

super newbie here so please ignore any blatant stupidity

after lots of trial and error and some loss of hair I have finally been able to get arch Linux installed on my cubox-i4pro
It took bits and pieces from several different posts to get it working, there seems to be lots of bad or old information on this floating around

installed from instructions from here
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... le/cubox-i

did post install stuff from this page, but install form this page did not work
http://imx.solid-run.com/wiki/index.php?title=ArchLinux
lxde installation from here did not work

used this page to get wifi working on boot
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne ... stallation

at this point I created an image as it took quite a while to get it here

I was able to get lxde working once by following "pepedog » Sun May 18, 2014 3:46 am" post
but it was ugly and would only work by running xinit /usr/lib/lxsession
chromium didn't work and there were several "red X" icons in the system tray
I then when on and installed freerdp and remmina and was able to RDP
I could not get this to load lxde on startup and it worked for a bit until I messed it up

I went through the whole process again to verify and now I can't get lxde installed at all
there are several errors retrieving files when I run pepedogs command to install lxde, xorg, drivers, chromium
I try using different repositories but it is just not working anymore.

I have tried several different sets of instructions for installing lxde on the cubox-i4pro but none of them seem to be working

any thoughts?
Does anyone have an image available with arch Linux and lxde working that they would be wiling to share, for the Cubox-i4pro that is?

You have to update the package database first, and updating installed packages is a good idea too. With the command
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu')

Chromium won't work under root. There's only one x in the taskbar usually with lxde which is easy to remove.I am trying to get kde with kwin-gles to work. So far downgraded the xorg-server to 1.14. It now works but still super buggy with cursor disappearing.

EDIT: If somebody wants to play around:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15043728/ArchLinuxArm/Cubox/libdrm-viv-2.4.52-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz
