Utilite, problems after update, filesystem

Postby tobbebobbe » Sun Jun 08, 2014 6:05 pm

After updating system where the filesystem was one of the things to get upgraded. Boot fails when supposed to switch from kernel boot to userspace. Booting with a SD card and chrooting to the root filesystem I do "pacman -Syu" and get told that there are inter-conflicts.

filesystem-2014.06-1, libsystemd-213-6, systemd-213-6 and systemd-sysvcompat-213-6 get listed, when I go thru with installation it fails with errors:

error: could not open file: /etc/mtab: No such file or directory
error: could not determine filesystem mount points
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)

Any suggestions on cause and fix for this?

Arch is suffering from latest systemd update, same as other devices with older kernels
https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/issues/861
Hope the 3.10 kernel is available soon

Rollback to older systemd

How do I perform a rollback on arch?

Install arch on other media, install archchroot on it
Mount the failed media, archchroot to it
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -U http://rollback.adminempire.com/2014/06/01/armv7h/core/systemd-212-3-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz ')
Exit and unmount
