Installation on Utilite SoC fails

Postby fish » Fri Jun 13, 2014 12:28 am

Hi,
I'm trying to install ArchLinux on a Utiliite Standard following the installtion instructions in the wiki. But I don't succeed. After powering on the serial console keeps black and nothing happens. I already changed the name of /boot/uImage to /boot/uImage-cm-fx6, I toggled the bootable flag for the first partition and I tested different SD cards. But the result is always the same: the utilite doesn't react at all!
Anybody an idea?

cheers

You have to get serial working.
Note that from host to utilite that tx and rx crossover (a null modem does this)

You want the serial on the front, not back btw

Hi pepedog,

I forgot to mention that the serial is working and I can interact with the system when I start the box without any sd card, but with the sd card inserted the system doesn't react at all ... the boot process doesn't start!

cheers

Can you post what you do see on serial. Card in or out you should always get something

I don't wish to insult you, but is the card all the way in? About 2mm before the card becomes flush it has a springing out action, I then use another card to make it click and latch in.
Uboot is in flash (unless you did something different) so should show something.
If above is false, use a cheap small card, not sdhc or uhc
