poweroff and reboot work as expected.

Then considering that with systemd, poweroff is the way to be going, I won't see the issue, exactly.

I was trying to have fsck run automatically and repair the filesystem without intervention. Thats why I was attempting it. Looks like a remote headless system cannot be repaired, according to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=7581
