[SOLVED] [CuBox i4Pro] how to set ONLY static IP?

Postby akoy » Thu Aug 28, 2014 2:15 pm

Hi all!
I just installed Arch on CuBox i4Pro. I set the static IP, but dhcp is still on... I think... If I search for Samba server with my Android phone, I see two identical servers from the CuBox i4Pro: one IP is the one I set manually/statically, the other is the one which has been set during the first boot of the CuBox.
See here$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Nmap scan report for cubox-nas.fritz.box (192.168.178.37)
Host is up (0.014s latency).
Nmap scan report for cubox-nas.fritz.box (192.168.178.234)
Host is up (0.0032s latency).')

Yeah, you might want to disable the dhcp profile.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'Y')eah, you might want to disable the dhcp profile.
How can I do that?

Btw... This is really strange:$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'root@cubox-nas ~]# pacman -Q dhcpcd
error: package 'dhcpcd' was not found
[root@cubox-nas ~]# pacman -Q dhclient
error: package 'dhclient' was not found
[root@cubox-nas ~]# ps aux | egrep 'dhcpcd|dhclient'
root 477 0.0 0.0 2328 536 pts/0 S+ 14:37 0:00 grep -E dhcpcd|dhclient')

This is Arch. Perhaps you might consult the wiki?

Mmm... WarheadsSE what do you mean with your last reply?! I'm not joking you at all. Only: I'm still learning and I'm a growing n00b so, most of the things are unknown to me and also reading a guide/wiki is not always fully intelligible/clear for my understanding of these new concepts. So please, would you be so kind to explain me where/what I'm misunderstanding/failing about the networking and static IP topic?
Hope you'll have time and will to explain/learn me some tips!!!
ty ;)

Search wiki.archlinux.org for netctl and then for "static ip"

In this case, the dhcp profile can either be from netctl, or systemd-networkd
