Arch kernel with other distros

Hi,

I've looked at the wandboard boot process and I'm wondering if the mainline Arch RC images can be ported to boot other distros like Debian? I've been very happy lately with a Debian Wheezy rootfs because it doesn't have much of the systemd madness, but kernel updates are lacking. Has anyone tried doing this?
