[wandboard quad] Network exception and system freezing

Postby selex » Thu Nov 27, 2014 10:19 am

Hi

From time to time my wandboard was freezing. After some time of trial and error finally I can say with some confidence that the problem has to be related with Transmission. Last time I got the following exception two times:

I have to say that this exception is not the last journalctl message before system hangs, but it happens when I have Transmission running. I have found that a similar issue happens with raspberry pi http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Crashes_occur_with_high_network_load, but in that case seems to be related with USB driver and I'm using a sata hdd.

I have tried also powering the Wandboard with a 2A/5V power supply and the hdd with a 3A/5V power supply to discard power supply problems. System hanging was still happening. Did anyone have a similar problem?

I am using Transmission on Wandboard Quad, with kernel linux-armv7-3.17.4-1, on a Debian LXC container without troubles.

Time ago I had several kernel crashes caused by not use official power supply of the external HD.
