Latest download not working on Cubox i4 Pro

Postby qong » Sun Dec 07, 2014 12:43 am

Hi,

just downloaded ArchLinuxARM-imx6-cubox-latest.tar.gz
and followed the instructions here http://www.solid-run.com/wiki/ArchLinux
The cubox starts, but crashes with a stack trace like:

WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at kernael/time/tick-broadcast.c:604 tick_handle_oneshot_broadcast+0x1d4/0x1f0()
Modules loaded in:
CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm swapper 0 not tainted 3.14.25-2-ARCH #1

and there's lots more.

Also tried the instructions here http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... le/cubox-i, but the machine didn't even start.

Just want a working image. Even a link to a working older version would be fine.

Thanks
qong

Bit hard, the machine basically halts. So I can't ssh into it or even log on.
Is it stored somewhere on the SD card ? Then I could copy it.

But simply put, all 4 CPU's are halted

This machine has serial built in, all you need is a micro USB cable.

You connect via serial before you boot

OK, now I get it.

Is the output also written to a file on the SD?
This would be much quicker as I wouldn't have to swap out the SD that's currently in it and pfaff about with cables and such.

You connect via a terminal program, in windows you can use putty
Then you copy the text that appears, you are not investigating the card

Yes, I understood that and found this (http://www.solid-run.com/wiki/index.php?title=Serial_console) to help me do it on my mac.

However, some linux systems write this kind of data to a file e.g. /var/log/messages. And I was wondering if archlinux does this too. And if so, where I might find this log file? This would be on the SD card too would it not. If yes, then it would be much quicker for me to just copy the info from the SD card.

OK, found it myself. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=53732

If there's no info here, I'll get the info using the serial.
