Can you tell with which kernel version the errors started happening?

[2015-04-16 04:18] [ALPM] upgraded linux-imx6-cubox-dt (3.14.37-1 -> 3.14.38-1)
[2015-04-22 19:34] [ALPM] upgraded linux-imx6-cubox-dt (3.14.38-1 -> 3.14.39-1)
[2015-05-19 20:26] [ALPM] upgraded linux-imx6-cubox-dt (3.14.39-1 -> 3.14.43-1)
[2015-06-28 21:32] [ALPM] upgraded linux-imx6-cubox-dt (3.14.43-1 -> 3.14.45-1)
[2015-07-16 22:08] [ALPM] upgraded linux-imx6-cubox-dt (3.14.45-1 -> 3.14.48-1)

I see the issue from 3.14.48-1

I tried to trouble shoot a bit and found that whenever the HDMI connection goes and comes back my external USB HDD is making click sound. Now I removed the HDD the issue does not happen. The HDD in question is WD elements 1TB USB 3.0 disk. The HDD is working fine.

I believe that this is to do with power, some thing changed in configuration of USB related looks like it is not able supply enough power to HDD. The same set was working fine till now.

Looks like problem happens even without any USB attachments, so it is more serious than I thought.

Move to openELEC and every thing is good now. Looks like some thing gone wrong with Arch kernel.

I connected mine to tv, installed kodi for testing. Everything works great.

I've the same issue with kodi.

@moonman which packages did you install?

When you don't have the issue than perhaps libcec causes the problem?!
