mirabox - wifi access point

Postby shazled » Tue Oct 07, 2014 9:44 pm

Hello,
I just got a Mirabox. I successfully installed Arch following the clear instructions at:

http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/marvell/mirabox

However, I do not know how to setup the mirabox to be a wireless access point. The Mirabox seems to contain a USB based wireless adaptor but I do not know which kernel modules to load.

Thanks for any help.

Short cut, if it's plugged in do ifconfig-a to see if it shows up, if it does

I had a look on the debian distribution (3.5 series kernel) that is installed on the NAND. There is a shell script to start the WIFI and it contains the lines:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
insmod /root/wifi8766/mlan.ko
insmod /root/wifi8766/usb8xxx.ko fw_name=mrvl/usb8766_uapsta.bin
')

However, these kernel modules do not have sources and do not come with Arch. I will probably leave Wifi and just use the Mirabox as a firewall.
