Touchpad Help - Samsung Chromebook XE303C12

Postby okubricko » Sun Apr 08, 2018 3:18 am

Hey there,

This is my first post here after tons of reading and searching to no avail. I have a Samsung Chromebook (XE303C12). I have successfully installed ALARM on this in the past and had a fully working install. I had taken it back to a stock ChromeOS for my son but now he doesn't need it anymore. I would like to use it again.

My problem is that I can't get the trackpad to work. I have tried libinput, the synaptic driver and read as much as I can. I'm trying to figure out what has changed in the past 8 months. I've read that systemd or possible udev handles things differently.

I'm using the ArchLinuxARM-armv7-chromebook-latest.tar.gz kernel. Any help troubleshooting or whatever would be appreicated.

Thanks

Here's a follow up on this. After doing some investigation it seems that the Atmel touchpad runs on the i2c bus as /dev/input/event1. How can I find where/when i2c initializes and if the touchpad is being seen? Thanks.
