Hi,

thanks for your explanation. The good news is that I can confirm that the odroid XU4 as well as the Raspberry Pi B are working without any problems (even after several reboots everything looks fine).

Just as a hint: in my case the sd-card reader is now available under /dev/mmcblk1 (and thus the first partition can be mounted by applying the mount command to /dev/mmcblk1p1. Before it was /dev/mmcblk0.

Best regards

P.S.: I will mark this thread as solved. (Unfortunately I had to change the subject because of limitations in the number of characters. :D )

Hi,

same here. The update runs without error message now and the Pi reboots without issues. Thanks a lot for all your posts! :)

Kind regards,

I have a similar problem on my NAS running Archlinux on an LVM root volume on an odroid-xu4.

To get my system to boot properly on kernel 3.10, I had to customize the /usr/lib/initcpio/install/sd-lvm2 file to add 'dm-cache' to the list of modules to be loaded before generating the initramfs

Now, when I try to upgrade to kernel 4.9, generation of initramfs fails with the message :
==> ERROR: module not found: `dm_cache'
==> ERROR: module not found: `dm_cache_smq'
whether I customize the sd-lvm2 file or not.

Does it mean the stock 4.9 kernel does not include these modules ?

Please can you help, I'm stuck !

[EDIT]
File /usr/lib/modules/3.10.105-1-ARCH/kernel/drivers/md/dm-cache.ko.gz is missing in the kernel package linux-odroid-xu3-4.9.13-3-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz
Where can i find it ?

@hutou: I think, you're good to go to ask it directly upstream: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=26007ode

EDIT: Looks like, CONFIG_DM* got enabled with linux-odroid-xu3 4.9.13-7 :)
