Samsung XE303C12 / network manager / resolving problems

Postby timsan » Tue Dec 29, 2020 7:54 pm

Hi All,

Firstly, I am very grateful for the Arch Linux Arm version for the Samsung XE303C12. Since the XE303C12 is not updated anymore by Google, it is nice to see this nice little Chromebook working quite well with Arch Arm.

I installed network manager, since I was hoping that the wireless would connect automagically. It did that, however, I then had resolving issues. The browsers and pacman would not work anymore (resolving errors).

To fix the resolving errors, I had to remove network manager and everything worked fine after that. And wifi-menu can make the wireless connection (though, not automagically).

Is this issue known? Is there some type of work around?

ta, t.

yeah you keep using netctl (network manager) cli if you want to connect on boot.

it may only be that you have to refresh the profile delete then make another one thought

if you are connecting through wifi-menu -o,
then find the profiles in /etc/netctl
delete accordingly.
and it should work.

But that's how i found out where i couldn't get connect my wifi internet through wifi-menu for some reason.
I also had to toggle/issue
ip link set mlan0 down

and back up again.

It could be DNSSEC issues, that became enabled in systemd-resolved by default, and it fails badly with some routers. You can check with:
