[SOLVED] xu4.cant connect to archlinuxarm but can to ubuntu

Postby rezad » Tue Mar 07, 2023 2:41 pm

I have a odroid xu4. and use archlinuxarm on it. it worked for a long time and basically I only used archlinux on it and it was great as I use archlinux on laptop too.

but I had a power loss. now my odroid shows a blue blinking led which I dont know if it is normal or even changed because I didnt check that before. but I I cant connect via ssh to it cause it doesn't get an ip. I have no hdmi monitor or keyboard to check what is happening.

I tried to install a clean archlinuxarm install and it had the same issue.

I thought my board was gone so I just on a whim installed ubuntu and it worked.
but when I tried archlinux again it didnt work.

so only ubuntu works but I really dont like ubuntu.

what is happening with arch that makes it not boot?

UPDATE:
because the forum doesnt allow me to answer (it say too old a post) I put it here.
I dont know that was wrong but with the Apr 21th version of ArchLinuxARM-odroid-xu3-latest it booted fine and I went back to archlinux.
it may be as the user said because of network name change of lan changing to enu1.

Hello
blue led blinking is normal.
If you want stop blinking
$ echo none > /sys/class/leds/blue:heartbeat/trigger

Since an update from systemd, names of network card changes
to go back with legacy name, try with this:
$ ln -s /dev/null /etc/udev/rules.d/80-net-setup-link.rules
or
$ echo '' > /etc/udev/rules.d/80-net-setup-link.rules
