Not until us developers have them, and not until we have a safe installation method worked out, after the kernel and bootloader are figured out.

It'll be a while yet.

But, we're going be trying. That's for damn sure.

I have received my donated Chromebook 2 13". I am working on getting an nv-uboot working with it, but it is admittedly being a smidge problematic at the moment. Progress is happening, if slow.

Preliminary support is now available, don't expect everything to work. This is also only for the 13" XE503C32 version, and only for booting from micro SD.

I found and installed Arch Linux on my ChromeBook 2 this weekend. Installation OK, I had to side-load some WiFi-related modules to get wifi-menu running and connect to my local WLAN. The CB2 connects and gets an IP address and default gateway but no DNS config. Network connectivity is very poor (few responses when I ping my router) and after a while I get some error messages about sendmsg out of buffer space. This could be a driver problem? Wifi works fine in ChromeOS on the same device.

Otherwise good work! Is anyone still working with improving Arch Linux on the ChromeBook 2? I could help out with some testing. I want to use the CB2 as a development environment and target for multicore applications on ARM.

We're still working on it, and it's not just ALARM that is hitting this issue you describe.
