Samsung Chromebook 2 Install Help

I have been following the guide as best I can, replacing the parted/partprobe portions with the partx commands. However, after running the following
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
cgpt create -z /dev/mmcblk1
cgpt create /dev/mmcblk1
cgpt add -i 1 -t kernel -b 8192 -s 32768 -l Kernel -S 1 -T 5 -P 10 /dev/mmcblk1
')
The command$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', ' partx -l /dev/mmcblk1') gives the following error
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'partx: /dev/mmcblk1: failed to read partition table')
If anyone can help me figure this out I would appreciate .

partx -v -a /dev/mmcblk1 first.

I got the same error, but with the added info$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'partition: none, disk: /dev/mmcblk1, lower: 0, upper: 0
partx: /dev/mmcblk1: failed to read partition table')
I will try doing the partitioning on a different machine that has parted and partprobe.
