I purchased a Odroid-XU4 and tried to install Archlinux on it following the official install instructions:
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... odroid-xu4
I followed the istructions just like described, no errors (dd, mkfs, bsdtar, sd_fusing).
The Odroid starts the fan at full speed (and wount slow it down) but i cannot ssh into it, and the router wount show/list it either.
LED Status:
* red light is on,
* green light is on (on the ethernet port, signalling incomming traffic, because i added the device mac address to the router, which i looked up in boot.ini ; before i did that the green light was off)
* blue light is off.
If my undestanding is correct, it hangs somewhere in the boot process.
I repeated the install instructions multiple times (to be sure).
MD5 check of the downloaded image is right as well.
I tried the official install instructions of the ubuntu image (just dd the image onto sd) and they work. So this doesn't seem like a hardware problem on my side...
I only have an sd-card, so i cannot test the instructions with an emmc card, a serial adapter or some other esoteric hardware.
Can someone confirm if the install instructions do really work, or some kind of idea how to solve my problem of installing archlinux on my odroid-xu4 ?
Or i'll have to stick with ubuntu.....*sob*...
