Reduce systemctl tty spam on Chromebook - Round 2

Postby EMKLI » Fri Dec 04, 2015 10:12 am

Hi there!

A while ago, I searched for a solution to get rid of the massive boot output of symstemd (http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=6971&p=38432).

A few weeks ago, I had to re-setup my Chromebook with the newest image, and now I have the same problem. However, the old solution does not work anymore if the mentioned partition does not exist any longer. So, is there another solution of reducing the systemd output as much as possible?

Greetings,
Markus

I had the same issue. The old installation instructions had us setup a bootloader we could play with, but the current ones do not.

Try:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'echo 1 > /proc/sus/kernel/printk')

This will tell the kernel to shut up, but systemd may remain verbose. Systemd should have some configurables for this.

I have several other suggestions on how to fix things on my website: http://halestrom.net/darksleep/snow/ (disclosure: I run the site for fun, it has no ads or revenue).
