ODROID XU4 Kernel panic, no init found

Postby bartazuk » Tue Dec 29, 2015 10:15 am

Hello everybody!

I'm trying to boot a arch linux on odroid xu4, i followed this tutorial => http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... odroid-xu4 but when i plug it, i have a kernel panic: [ 8.003763] [c7] Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. See Linux Documentation/init.txt

I tried to add a init=/sbin/init on the kernel command, but it said : [ 7.995909] [c7] Failed to execute /sbin/init. Attempting defaults... Eventhough /sbin/init exists

I don't know what to do, does anybody has an idea?

Thanks

Alex

This looks like you did not extract rootfs as root. Try reinstalling from scratch and execute all commands as root. Don't use sudo.

Hello

Thanks for your answer. I tried to do it from the beginning with sudo su, but i have the same error. I'am on Ubuntu 14.04, do you think it could be the cause?

Here is what happened before the error happen:

OK, i found it...

It looks like sudo su and su root aren't the same things. For the next ones, use "su root"

Thanks!
