[SOLVED] Keyboard stops working after Update BeagleBoard xM

Postby dtc357 » Fri Mar 02, 2012 1:30 am

Hi,

I've seen a little chatter here and there about various problems after a system update. I've done about 3 different updates trying to make sure each time it isn't something I'm doing that is causing my problems overtly. My issue is that I take my microSD card all set up with the install of Arch Linux Arm get everything to boot, I login as the default root:root and start working on getting the system to a desktop environment. I've done a pacman -S udev-automount before and after pacman -Syu and everything seems happy, packages updated. But the very next boot I get to the login and the keyboard is completely unresponsive. What should I do? I can't find a clear answer.

Thanks for the help,
Dave

Chances are that the upgrade is pulling in an updated kernel, and the bootloader is pulling the uImage from the first partition of the SD card, not where ever you have the rootfs installed. Copy uImage from the rootfs to the first partition of the card, overwrite the one there, reboot and you should be fine.
