Trimslice: Crash during "pacman -Syu" update

Postby bmentink » Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:34 pm

Hi All,

Thought I would update my Trimslice, so did a full update .... it got to the point of installing all the downloaded files, when
my unit suddenly reset and booted up again ... so only a partial update was done. Tried to continue the upgrade but things are broke .. i.e:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')root@alarm bmentink]# pacman -Syu

Anyone know how to fix this? Any access to the disk results in Input/output errors .. does that mean the disk is corrupt? :cry:

Thanks,
Bernie

Try clearing the cache
pacman -Scc
Answer yes to both

Update database
pacman -Syyuf
When offered to upgrade pacman first, say no

Ok, that helped a bit, at least the remaining packages where downloaded ... however only a couple were installed before I got the error about the python package ..

The fs is on the internal SSD, I have to boot with an SD card and fschk the SSD partition right?

Sadly, it sounds like it's time to pave.
