BeagleBone School Project

Postby imagiro1 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 2:13 am

Hello all,

We are working on a school project and looking for some support getting a BeagleBone to run ArchLinux. We are hoping to turn it into a data acquisition unit onboard an off road vehicle to record driver and car vitals. I had chosen the BeagleBone+ArchLinux when I discovered the main page had great directions. Now I've seen the forum and I'm not sure if it's even being supported anymore.

The current release is from 2011. From the instructions from the forum there should be 2 scripts in the /boot folder. Those are no longer there. I have quite a bit of linux experience. I even run a pogoplug with Archlinux. But I can not figure out what I'm doing wrong. So far all I get is CCCCCCCC using screen after I reboot it. I get the same results using the filesystem from either the forum or the main page.

We are really hoping to get this working. And hopefully somebody will be willing to provide us with some support. Thanks in advance.

It is still supported, using the instructions from the platform's page.

I too have been running ArchLinux on a PogoPlug and recently purchased a BeagleBone. It took me awhile to get my BeagleBone running with ArchLinux but it's running fine now. Check out my response to this thread, the script I used to create the SD card was run from my PogoPlug.
