[Solved] Beagleboard ethernet port not working

Postby kleim » Tue Mar 19, 2013 5:51 pm

Hi all,

My Beagleboard xm rev C ethernet port stopped working (the LED indicators stay dark). It was working perfectly until I rebooted it. The only change was the kernel update from 3.7.10-1 to 3.7.10-2.
I kept the original micro SD card containing an old version of Linux Angstrom and my Beagle board ethernet port works fine with it so it is not an hardware issue. I also connected my Beagleboard to my LCD screen and it seems that it boots fine. Sadly there is still the issue with kernel 3.7.6-3.8.2 that prevents plugged USB device to work so I cannot gain further access to the system.
I tried the fix where you create a systemd service to switch off and on eth0 but had no luck with it.

Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this or experience the same issue? Should I wait a new kernel update and do a complete reinstall?

After updating, did you copy uImage to the right place? Probably first partition of card.
To prevent again mount it as /boot in fstab

... The most simple solution is sometimes the best. Thanks, I was sure I had copied uImage. I added the entry in the fstab to avoid this kind of problem in the future.
