BeagleBoard Serial Problem

Postby bignick » Wed May 15, 2013 8:32 pm

Ok so I installed archlinux on my sd card just like it says here: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/beagleboard

The board boots perfectly when I connect it via HDMI to my TV.
But when I connect via serial to the laptop, simply nothing appears on minicom or any other program.
I wired the serial connectors according to the following picture.
Any help is highly appreciated :)

Be sure you're using the right voltage, and that TX and RX go to the right places.

i'm using a 5v adapter 1.25mA, and using a serial to usb converter to connect to the laptop.
