Yes, my bbb has that same feature, SD card in, boots straight to it..., this contradicts a lot of the notes, but maybe is a new feature, either way, i prefer that. Anywho, just tested the approach to copy everything to eMMC and then remove the SD card and boot and it works great! Now just trying an 'pacman -Syu' and praying that that works too! :)

Thank you all who maintain this stuff...maybe one day I can learn how to help more than just report bugs! :)

Yes. latest uboot has changed behaviors, and no longer requires the button press to boot from the SD.

How can I use SD as storage? So boot from eMMC and use SD only as a storage.

Yes, you just have to remove the bits that make that SD card bootable.
