Wifi on TrimSlice ... HOWTO? [SOLVED]

Postby bmentink » Fri Sep 30, 2011 12:31 am

Hi Guys,

How do I get Wifi working for the TrimSlice, the only Wifi modules I could find in the build are the mac80211,cfg80211 and lib80211 modules. Modprobe'ing these modules did not give me a device ... anyone know how to get this working?

Are these the right modules? I don't know what the hardware devices are on the TrimSlice. It was working in Ubuntu, but can't check what modules where loaded there, as I have now trashed Ubuntu ..

Thanks,
Bernie

Should be rt2800usb. Loads by default for me on 3.1-rc7, though don't move to that kernel if you like having video output.

Hi kmihelich,

I don't get that module loading by default, but "modprobe rt2800usb" works, however I don't see any wlan0 device in ifconfig and "iw phy" or "iw list" shows nothing ... what should I see?

ifconfig doesn't show it, ifconfig -a does (and ifconfig wlan0 does too)
