I think back to basics because it does work. Maybe a faulty card?
Patition, format, mount, and extract rootfs as user root, choose boot.scr, and sync before unmounting card
Also check md5 of downloaded tar

A new rootfs is uploaded
It has a boot.scr that is good to boot a single partition ext3 on sd card, USB, or sata

I am a bit bewildered here but I can't decompress your image of some reason. I have checked the md5 and it is ok, that is checksum matches different filname, but I gues that is ok.

This is the command / output
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'tar zxf ArchLinuxARM-cubox-latest.tar.gz -C cubox/

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
')

How about
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'tar xf ArchLinuxARM-cubox-latest.tar.gz -C cubox/')
