what happened to uEnv.txt in kernel 4.13.4

Postby JohannChristian » Mon Oct 09, 2017 1:54 pm

When installing latest archlinuxarm on beaglebone black the /boot/uEnv.txt file is missing.
Placing a uEnv.txt in /boot doesn't give me the possibility to enable LCD 7 Inch.
/sys/devices/platform/bone_capemgr/slots says the LCD 7 inch is present.
The same problem with 5 inch display on Beaglebone Green.
Has anyone a solution to enable / disable HDMI / UART / I2C what before was done in uEnv.txt.

In the latest version of UBoot the uEnv.txt file is no longer used.

Instead make the wanted changes to:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '/boot/boot.txt')
and then run

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', './mkscr')
This requires the uboot-tools package to be installed.

Regarding disabling HDMI in later kernels, after 4.9.x, check my other post where i ask the same question:

But what should I add to boot.txt to get the HDMI disabled.
