ASLA sound config on Panda

Postby pixle » Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:38 pm

Hey, I just installed ArchlinuxArm on my Pandaboard and it works quite well. I don't use X atm, but I'd like to playback music over ssh, e.g. with mplayer or vlc. Now issuing $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mplayer soundfile.flac') returns this:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'MPlayer SVN-r34007-4.6.1 (C) 2000-2011 MPlayer Team

It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

Now, I don't know what to do with this error. What's the problem and how do I fix this? $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'alsamixer') shows me the "Panda" soundcard, so the device is detedted correctly. $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'alsactl init') and $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'alsactl store 0') don't change anything, either. Maybe you guys know how to get sound working :)
Thanks in advance,

If this doesn't remove a lot of packages, try
pacman -R pulseaudio

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'error: 'pulseaudio': target not found')

You need to tell mplayer to use the alsa output, not pulseaudio as it is broken.

Try mplayer -ao alsa file-to-play
