Led monitor resolution not supported

Postby skelos » Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:24 am

I'm new cubox user.
I tryied to install Archlinux following instructions and all appears ok.
When I start cubox linked with cable HDMI to my Samsung UE32D6510 Tv a message said "Resolution is not supported". Solution appears simple: edit xorg.conf file.
But in /etc/X11/ folder i don't have a xorg.conf file but only :
- xorg.conf.lcd0-1024x600.lcd1-1920x1080
- xorg.conf.dual.exa
- xorg.conf.dual.800x600
- rabxorg.conf

So, why I have this problem? (Tv supports Full HD resolution). And how can I change X resolution?

Thank you in advance.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pepedog', 'R')ename rabxorg.conf to xorg.conf

Thank you sir, I did it. But this doesn't resolve my problem...
I saw again same message. I tryied to change resolution adding row :
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', ' Option "PreferredMode" "1366x768"')
commenting all others resolution rows with an # but nothing change.

Do tou have some suggest for my problem?
Thank you a lot.

Skelos.

EDIT: I started Cubox with console. I have 2 errors in following code. How to do for fix them?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'CuBox

You mention 2 errors, but there are 3
Ignore the first 2, there is a way of stopping them but they are not important
The third error check permissions of etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf and possiblty install again with pacman -S syslog-ng

The video, you mention 4 files, copy and try them one at a time as xorg.conf and try, and possibly adjust until one works
- xorg.conf.lcd0-1024x600.lcd1-1920x1080
- xorg.conf.dual.exa
- xorg.conf.dual.800x600
- rabxorg.conf

Thank you for your kindly response.

I tryied to made all 4 xorg.conf starting to each file but nothing changed. After that, I edited each file (one for time) to try HDReady resolution 1366x768.
Nothing changed.
So I copied xorg.conf to original SD shipped with Cubox (it is working) in /etc/X11 ArchlinuxArm folder.
Nothing changed.

It appears X get resolution from other file... It is possible? I think not.

I'm despered...

There ar my packages:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarm ~]# pacman -Ss cubox
core/linux-cubox 3.5.0-2 [installed]
The Linux Kernel and modules for the Cubox
core/linux-headers-cubox 3.5.0-2 [installed]
Header files and scripts for building modules for linux kernel for the Cubox

[root@alarm ~]# pacman -Ss marvell
core/kernel26-armada370 2.6.35.9-1 (base)
The Linux Kernel and modules for Marvell Armada 370
core/kernel26-headers-armada370 2.6.35.9-1
Header files and scripts for building modules for kernel26 for Marvell
Armada 370
alarm/marvell-libbmm 0.2.0-1
Marvell Block/buffer memory management for hardware accelerators
alarm/marvell-libgfx 0.2.0-3
Armada 510/Dove graphics Libraries
alarm/marvell-libvmeta 1.0-2
Marvell vMeta HD video decoder library

[root@alarm ~]# ')

So, may be a update problem.

I did:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu')

I confirmed all and there are my new packages:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarm ~]# pacman -Ss cubox
core/linux-cubox 3.5.0-2 [installed]
The Linux Kernel and modules for the Cubox
core/linux-headers-cubox 3.5.0-2 [installed]
Header files and scripts for building modules for linux kernel for the Cubox
[root@alarm ~]# pacman -Ss marvell
core/kernel26-armada370 2.6.35.9-1 (base)
The Linux Kernel and modules for Marvell Armada 370
core/kernel26-headers-armada370 2.6.35.9-1
Header files and scripts for building modules for kernel26 for Marvell
Armada 370
alarm/marvell-libbmm 0.2.0-2
Marvell Block/buffer memory management for hardware accelerators
alarm/marvell-libgfx 0.2.0-4
Armada 510/Dove graphics Libraries
alarm/marvell-libvmeta 1.0-2
Marvell vMeta HD video decoder library
[root@alarm ~]#')

and ... nothing changed! :( :(

As soon as possible I try again to guess what xorg.conf may be correct with new packages.

Hello Skelos,

I use my Cubox with a LCD TV that supports 1366x768. However, this is not a resolution that the CuBox supports.

To get a desktop to display for me (in my case E17), I copied the rabxorg.conf file to xorg.conf and edited xorg.conf setting the display mode to 1360x768: $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Option "PreferredMode" "1360x768"') which displays Enlightenment quite nicely.

The only problem I have now is sound.
