Beagleboard xM at 600MHz?

Postby johnnyg » Sun Nov 25, 2012 4:47 am

I've been running archlinux arm on the Beagleboard for awhile now (over a year) and everything's been good
until I recently did a reboot which upgraded a whole lot of stuff (including the kernel) and now it seems that
my Beagleboard xM is running at 600MHz (instead of the 800Mhz it used to).

Searching the forums revealed an old post about passing in mpurate as a boot arg but that didn't seem to work.
There was also some posts on the cpu frequency getting decreased when the beagleboard is USB powered
however as I'm running it off DC power that shouldn't be applicable to me.
I've also tried playing with cpufreq but to no avail.

So, has the max frequency been dropped from 800MHz to 600MHz?
Or has something gone awry with my setup?

Happy to provide more details and/or jump on IRC if need be.

600 MHz sounds like the normal (non-xM) BeagleBoard speed, (except the latest revision)
I think the speed can be configured from u-boot, so I wonder if the problem exist in your u-boot?

Tried a new u-boot + bootcmd + boot.scr but still stuck at 600MHz.
