installation on eMMC

Postby nextuser » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:08 pm

Hi guys its my first post but, I followed this how-to http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7 ... bone-black
and everything were fine except installation on eMMC.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')fter booting into Arch Linux ARM, follow the above steps 4 through 7 using the device /dev/mmcblk1p[1|2]. Repartitioning is not required since the eMMC is already partitioned correctly.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mkfs.vfat -F 16 /dev/sdX1')
this code of course with my sdb1,
result:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'mkfs.vfat: command not found')

i also wanted to check wget command
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '-')bash: wget: command not found

what is the best way to install arch on eMMC ?
thanks !

wget => curl

At worst, install as necessary from pacman.

ah, I installed needed packages like normall arch linux, and everything works now ;)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')ower down the system, waiting until all the LEDs go out:poweroff
Remove power, remove the micro SD card, then reapply power. The system will boot into eMMC. If an SD card created with the above steps is still in the system when it boots, it will boot to the SD card instead of eMMC.

i got one problem, after these steps, I was not able to run archlinux arm from eMMC at first, No leds on ;/, but i pressed reset button, and everything seems to be good, arch linux from eMMC works now
