BBB + kernel v3.16 + PWM

I have a BBB running the v3.16 kernel. I've looked into getting PWM to work, but the guides I've found don't seem to work with the newest kernel. I think there are missing directories having to do with PWM control (I can't remember which ones exactly).

Is PWM on this kernel working as it should? If so, what steps should I take to get it working? Thanks.
