[SOLVED - BeagleBoneBlack] Set up USB networking

Postby ItachiSan » Fri Jul 24, 2015 3:44 pm

Hello,
I was interested in setting up USB networking, so I could use a single USB cable to power up the BBB and share Internet with it.
Actually, I think this could be achieved in 2 steps:
- enabling the USB port as a network capable device
- write the correct rule for systemd-networkd

I've no problem with the second part, while the first one is a bit unknown to me.
So, I wanted to ask before doing something bad to my BBB :D ;)

Do you mean this: https://github.com/WarheadsSE/PKGs/tree/master/gadget-deadbeef?
Also, may I ask why it is not in the official packages?

Ok, I succeded in it; I've also created a gadget-deadbeef fork that works with DHCP: https://aur4.archlinux.org/packages/gadget-deadbeef-dhcp

While derping around, I've also written a tutorial: http://giovannisantini.tk/2015/07/25/usb-networking-on-alarm-bbb/

Hoping in future the gadget-deadbeef packages will be avaible in official repositories. :D
