Beagleboard Xm - SDCard init problem on boot

Postby mzanders » Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:04 am

I recently started over with my Beagleboard Xm installation, following the installation instructions.

Most of the boot attempts fail at a point where the kernel init says:
[ 5.810516] mmc0: card never left busy state
[ 5.815002] mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD card

On some occasions, the board boots up completely.
I'm using the latest alarm image for beagleboard, dated 5/1/2016.

I tried 3 micro sd's:
* Kingston SDC4/4GB 77 (never completed a boot after fresh install)
* Sandisk Ultra 8GB (had some problems in the beginning, now works most of the times)
* Sandisk Ultra 4GB (only tried a few times, worked once)

I had an old installation on the kingston SD which as far as I can remember never failed to boot. Of course I don't have any reference as to which installation that was, the drive has been wiped.

Anyone has an idea where to start looking?
