PPTPD - MPPE required, but kernel has no support

Postby dan64 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:09 pm

I'd like to use the pptpd to setup a VPN, but when I try to connect to the server, the connection fail and the error message is MPPE required, but kernel has no support. I tried to find the module ppp_mppe in the modules directory, but it seems that this distro is released whitout this module, could you verify ?

Thanks

That was easy:
github -> core/linux-trimslice -> config
ctrl-f mppe
https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... nfig#L1531

I'dont understand what I have to do. I have downloaded the PKGBUILDs and modified the config to include MPPE as module, but are missing the kernel src and I cannot build the image. Any help ?

Thanks,
Danilo

I would suggest a pull request, or even and issue to have it enabled. Then it would simply be there.

Otherwise, makepkg is your friend.

I have received the notification that the proposed change has been merged. I have checked the last build released:
ArchLinuxARM-2013.11-trimslice-rootfs.tar.gz. But the module ppp_mppe.ko.gz is still missing. Do you know when will be released the new build with the new module ?

thanks
