[SOLVED] Add 'Clevis' and related packages to go with 'Tang'

Postby ShapeShifter499 » Tue Nov 30, 2021 5:39 am

I am trying to set up a bank of SBC including a raspberry pi 4, raspberry pi 3b+, and a rock64 with encryption.

I notice 'tang' is available but not 'clevis' and I don't know exactly why that is. It makes sense to me that you would naturally include 'clevis' with 'tang' since they are commonly used together for unlocking encrypted systems automatically. Could someone please include 'clevis' to the arch linux arm repositories?

'clang' is the client side of 'clevis and tang' allowing the clients to unlock disks automatically using a 'tang' server.

Other distributions seem to have a 'clevis' for arm based clients. Debian for example.

I'd hope the support is the same as what standard Arch Linux has https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/clevis/

I was able to get 'clevis' compiled and installed for my system by taking the PKGBUILD used for 'clevis' from the standard Arch Linux package and changing the arch line to arch=('aarch64')

So it should work fine to the best of my knowledge.
