Add EmulationStation to repo?

Postby altiris » Sat Dec 13, 2014 3:52 am

I was wondering if this program EmulationStation could be added to the arch repo. Its basically a front end program that managers and unifies multiple emulators in a nicely organized fashion, its pretty much xbmc but for emulating games. It is already available in the AUR although for x86, however they have builds for Raspbian and it comes included in RetroPie distrobution.

Links I think will be useful for you,
https://github.com/Aloshi/EmulationStat ... e#building
http://www.emulationstation.org/getting ... standalone
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/emul ... ation-git/

I think this would be a very beautiful and much needed addition to the glorious arch repository!

Thank you for reading and working hard!

Why would we add this to the 'aur' repo?
What makes it hard to compile?
What alterations might it need?
Who is going to take responsibility for maintaining it?
