GoFlexNet Bad UBoot Flash

Postby amoeller » Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:39 pm

I was following the tutorial on the main page and everything went fine installing ArchLinux. I was trying to change the MAC address and messed up. I got to the Marvel>> prompt to flash my bootloader as mine was flash incorrectly before and I chose the wrong kwb (it was the Dockstar one). Now USB won't start, no IP address, and Uboot wont respond. Am I bricked or can I recover? The front LED flashes green forever but the router shows a connection but in my router config shows nothing. I don't have a serial cable but willing to get on or JTAG if needed.

Thanks

You can probably recover using a serial cable. The dockstar and goflexnet are similar enough that u-boot should "kind of" work. I'd expect that serial, USB, and network access will all still be there; the major differences are the LEDs and SATA ports. So you should be able to flash the correct u-boot image.

You might even get by without a serial cable by using a dockstar image in a USB flash drive. Depending on the u-boot environment you flashed, it might autoboot a (dockstar) kernel from the USB drive, and then you can use Linux tools to reflash u-boot, etc.
