I believe i have a problem with my 8GB USB drive. I've got problem running mke2fs (ext2fs_mkdir: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read while creating root dir)
That's weird i have been able to install and run ArchLinux on it yesterday and it also work perfectly with a Fat32. :?

BTW is was yet another broken USB drive
I advice to test any USB drive with a dd (dd if=/dev/random of=abigfile bs=1024 count=4096K)

I've had flash drives die on my quickly, but normally because I setup a swapfile on it instead of a "regular" external drive.

One died within 1 week after enabling a swapfile and another died (from new) within 6 weeks. After that, I learned my lesson and put the swapfile on a regular drive.

HTH

Also might want to update title to "[FIXED - BAD USB DRIVE] pacman broke my Pogo" or something...
