Your problem is *size* alone. fdisk doesn't like > 2TB disks, period. Creating multiple 1TB partitions wont solve the overall capacity issue.

Does fdisk not like it or the GoFlex / ArchLinux not like it?

If I were to use Ubuntu to create these 3 partitions on the 3TB would it not work?

It's the old MBR that doesn't like 3TB size that's why I was suggesting to use 2TB drive to boot up. I don't know what Windows used to format the hard drive to access all 3TB and it isn't accessible by Linux (it doesn't seem to be GPT if the size isn't detected in Linux). Anyway, you need to convert MBR to GPT partition table for 3TB drive.

Thanks again for the help all (EVEN that silly imgtgy.com link). Been playing with this in my free time and sabnzbd works like a charm, and plays nice with MyNZB on the iPhone.

moonman- you were 100% right, I couldn't even get that 3TB to show up in Ubuntu! My 2TB w/GPT worked fine in Ubuntu, and was plug and play on the GoFlex Net. Once I configure samba I'll test streaming some HD files to the media center while sabnzbd does its thing in the background, if it stutters I might have to move over to ext3. Hopefully that won't be the case...

Are there any good file managers for this sucker? Something like Total Commander or the like with the 2 pane display for moving things around?

Nevermind, found Midnight Commander. Loving this $6 GoFlex Net so far!

Try WinSCP instead.
