Guess it must be the hard drive as I can get it to boot from a flash drive no problem. Oh well, appreciate the help!

I've decided to torture myself and play with this some more. Is there a way for me to copy my flash drive that currently has Alarm on it to a partition on my hard drive so I can try booting from my hard drive again?

Thanks

`cp -ar /path/to/flash/* /path/to/disk/` as root from another linux computer

I have the same problem actually. I used a 4 GB flash drive, as a single partition.
Oddly enough it did boot Arch on first try, I configured some things -- and after reboot it went to stock...
