Pogo series 4 help with VNC

Postby ibexmonj » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:56 pm

hello guys

I have installed arch linux as per the instructions on the pogoplug series 4

it boots and all is well.

My question is I installed x11vnc and tightvnc but when I try to start the vnc server I get an error saying
" XOpenDisplay failed (:0) "

I am installing GDM since I am not sure what I need for the X server to work .

Please advise if it is possible to remote desktop into the arch linux in this manner
any help is appreciated

It is technically possible.. yes. It's a whole lot of pain though.

thanks for the reply.

So what is the best way to manage files and a run a webserver ?

I wanted more control and hence installed arch linux on the pogoplug.

If I just want to use it to access my files remotely just like pogoplug, can you please advise the best programs I should install on arch linux ?

thanks again
