[Solved] Sheevaplug: Installation over a Debian

Postby xoxox » Sun Jul 31, 2011 8:49 am

Hello,

i'm currently running a sheevaplug preconfigured from NewIT with Debian on a SD-Card.
Can i install ArchArm on another SD-card without harming the current uBoot Config?

Can i use the installer script from http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/sheevaplug ?

Edit: The installer script is not necessary. Just create a SD-Card with two partitions, first with ext2, second with ext3/4/etc.
Copy the /boot conten from http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz to the first partition, the rest goes into the second. That's it.

I had no luck installing arch linux from debian and win7, so I did the same thing as you've done but now I can't login from ssh nor from serial.
I've tried changing some values on /etc/ssh/ssh_config but that didn't helped.
Any solution to this?

Silly me, I didn't extract ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz as superuser probably lost some protected files.
Now everything is working.
