linux-kirkwood Requests

Postby Kurlon » Sun Aug 26, 2012 6:00 pm

3.5.3 has landed with some ext4 and usb fixes that might be relevant to some of the Kirkwoods out there. Before I update the pkgbuild, are there any config changes people would like made?

May I suggest to wait a bit, since I just submitted a bug report to fix a webcam driver module functionality, and was promised to by the dev. :o

As to config changes, would be nice to add CP866 encoding to enable mounting of Vfat formatted Thumbs with some native language support required to read miniDLNA DB data in a native language on TV screen properly.

Where did you submit the bug report to, I don't see an open issue on Github? As far as the other request, sling me config options so I can test builds, don't assume I know them all by heart. :D

Sorry, the bug report was submitted to Linux Media Mailing List <linux-media@vger.kernel.org> as requested by the webcams driver package maintainer. It can't be fixed for Arch only, its basic Linux kernel module. As to config options for adding CP866, it might be best commented by the guys who build ARM packages here on regular basis, since some encodings are included in current build by default.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ls /usr/share/fonts/encodings')

Btw, I see ibm-cp866.enc.gz already encluded, so will try adding such locale, since cp866.enc.gz is not included. It might work with Vfat...

Ah, no need to wait for that webcam driver to be updated before updating our linux-kirkwood package then, any changes won't appear in 3.5.3, 3.5.4 at the absolute earliest but I'd wager 3.7 would be more likely.
